But with so many schools available, how do you know which real estate school is the best fit for you?
We’ve reviewed real estate schools all over Texas to narrow down your options to the very best.
Here is our report on the 3 best real estate schools in Lubbock.
Before we jump straight into the list, let’s first outline our criteria for what makes real estate classes the best.
TREC exam pass rates. The TREC exam is tough. So tough that only 62% of test-takers pass the test on any given day. But the real estate school you choose can greatly improve your chances of passing this test to get your real estate license. We’ve compared TREC exam pass rates from schools all over Texas to find the best scores. See TREC Provider Exam Pass Rates
Quality of the Curriculum. The curriculum is also critical. The more engaging the curriculum is, the more you’re likely to learn and retain. The curriculum should also be easy to access so you can work your real estate education around your already busy life.
Pricing. Price isn’t everything, but it also shouldn’t be ignored. You’re investing your hard-earned money in your real estate education and future career. So you naturally want to make sure you’re getting a good value for your investment.
Reputation. We also factored in each real estate school’s reputation, both in the local Lubbock area and in the real estate industry as a whole. You should be proud to tell you colleagues which real estate school you attended!
With this set of criteria in mind, let’s see which Lubbock area real estate schools rank at the top.
We’re so proud to report that we’re the best real estate school in Lubbock! And we’re not just number one because we believe we offer the best student experience at the best price in Lubbock. It’s because we are objectively the best option for Lubbock students based on the criteria outlined above.
Aceable is a next-gen real estate school, built for the modern real estate agent. Using the latest tech, our Harvard-educated designers and experienced real estate professionals worked together to build courses specifically to be accessed from your phone or tablet (of course you still get a great user experience from your computer as well!).
We’ve earned our reputation as the premier real estate school for the modern age in the short time we’ve been on the Lubbock real estate school scene.
Aceable Real Estate School innovative and engaging coursework sets us apart from all other Lubbock area real estate schools.
As mentioned, our coursework is designed to be accessed from your mobile devices. In fact. we’re the only mobile-first course certified by TREC. This means you’ll enjoy a quality course experience even if you can’t spend hours tied to your computer. Your entire real estate education is right there on your phone, with you wherever, whenever!
We also offer groundbreaking workshops, where you can get hands-on training in subjects like contracts and real estate math. You’ll get practice running real estate calculations and drafting real estate contracts, just like you’ll do in your day-to-day work as a licensed agent.
And if you have any questions along the way, our team of real estate experts is available 7 days/week to provide answers.
Plus, our pre-license courses all come complete with unlimited exam prep. Our engaging curriculum coupled with expert assistance and unlimited exam prep is why AceableAgent students score higher on the TREC exam than any other students in Texas! The average exam pass rate is only 62%, but Aceable students have a pass rate of 78%! That means 5,594 students have passed out of AceableAgent's overall 7,176 test-takers. But don’t take our word for it. Read through some reviews from AceableAgent students:
With all those advantages, you might expect Aceable to be more expensive than the other real estate schools in Lubbock. But we’re actually one of the most affordable.
Our Get Started package is available now for just $497 (regularly priced at $677).
This package includes your pre-license course bundle, unlimited exam prep, real estate experts to answer your questions 7 days/week, and free exam proctoring (that free proctoring alone will save you about $90!). It’s everything you need to pass your exam and get your real estate license.
Aceable's Biggest Benefits:
- Engaging coursework designed to work with your phone, tablet, or computer.
- Exam prep and proctoring are included at no additional charge.
- Exceedingly high value for your investment.
- Top-notch real estate experts and customer service reps.
Areas Where Aceable Real Estate School Can Improve:
- Continuing education course offerings. We currently offer several CE courses, but not as many as we’d like. Being so new, some of our advanced courses are still in development.
- Growing our student base. As the new kid on the block, we’re working to get our name out there so we can help as many agents (current and future) as possible.
TREC Exam Pass Rate for Aceable's Students:
In case you missed it, AceableAgent’s average exam pass rate is 78% (5,594 out of 7,176 total registrants)! No other real estate school in the entire state is anywhere near that high. See TREC Provider Exam Pass Rates
Let’s see how the other Lubbock area real estate schools compare.
Real Estate Express is an online real estate school with a solid reputation. You might be familiar with their parent company, McKissock Learning, which offers licensing courses in everything from home inspection to finance.
Real Estate Express offers a full menu of courses for real estate licensing and continuing education at an affordable price.
Real Estate Express’ courses are known for being well-organized. The information is presented in a clear and concise manner, which helps students understand the complex relationships between various real estate concepts.
Unfortunately, not all topics on the exam are adequately covered in the course material. Students report being blindsided by exam questions on topics that they don’t recall being covered in the course material at all.
The courses also aren’t designed to be viewed from phones and tablets. It’s technically possible to access the material on your mobile devices, but the user experience is clunky. Real Estate Express specifically recommends using a computer for “a better course experience”.
Real Estate Express’ ‘Get Started’ Package is currently priced at $484. But this package doesn’t include exam prep. If you want to improve your chances of passing the TREC exam, you need to upgrade to the ‘Exam Advantage Package’, currently at $519.
These prices are perfectly reasonable, but you should know that Real Estate Express also often offers promo codes for discounts on their packages. There’s just no way to know in advance when promo codes will be offered or how much they’ll be worth.
One last thing: you’ll have to pay for your exam proctoring separately. It’s not included with Real Estate Express packages like it is with AceableAgent packages. Expect to pay around $90 for exam proctoring in the Lubbock area.
Real Estate Express’ Biggest Benefits:
- Clear and concise course materials.
Areas Where Real Estate Express Can Improve:
- Modernizing the coursework. They’re missing the opportunity to provide a complete learning experience via mobile devices.
- Exam prep should be included in every package. If you can’t pass the exam, what is the point of taking these real estate license courses?
TREC Exam Pass Rate for Real Estate Express’ Students:
The TREC exam pass rate for Real Estate Express’ students is currently at 60% (1,138 have passed out of 1,907 total registrants). This is right at average. See TREC Provider Exam Pass Rates
Established in 1983, Champions School of Real Estate is the longest-standing real estate school on our Lubbock list.
Unlike AceableAgent and Real Estate Express, which focus on online courses, Champions is a campus-first real estate school. This is important for anyone who learns better from in-person instruction.
Champions’ students are consistently impressed with their instructors’ knowledge and ability to teach the material.
Unfortunately, Champions doesn’t have a physical location in Lubbock. They do, however, offer ‘Champions LIVE!’, which is like a virtual classroom. You log in at specified times, and the instructor presents a live lesson via webcam. It’s a good option for people who learn best from real-time lectures.
But since many of today’s students need the flexibility of self-paced online courses that they can work into their schedules at any time, let’s also look at Champions’ online program.
This, sadly, is where Champions shows their age. They have been focused on providing a quality live learning experience, so they haven’t invested the time or money in creating quality online courses. Their online courses are simply PDFs of the text and online quizzes.
A quick look at Champions’ website will show you how outdated their tech is. Simply signing up for courses is a cumbersome process. This may not bother you if you’re considering the on-campus classes. But for online students, it’s a cause for concern. Even taking the Champions’ LIVE! Courses may be unnecessarily difficult with the outdated technology.
Because of their campus-first business model, Champions is more expensive than online real estate schools.
Champions LIVE! courses currently start at $980. This includes your required courses plus exam prep.
Interestingly, the PDF-and-quizzes online courses also start at $980. There is no difference in price whether you’re on campus, LIVE!, or online.
Champions’ Biggest Benefits:
- Live instructors are great for those who learn better from real-time lectures.
- Exceptional course instructors and responsive staff.
Areas Where Champions Can Improve:
- The technology is outdated.
- The courses are expensive.
- The online courses can’t compare to other Lubbock real estate schools, and they certainly aren’t worth the price.
TREC Exam Pass Rate for Champions’ Students:
The TREC exam pass rate for Champions’ students is currently at 61% (12,788 have passed out of 21,102 total registrants), which is much lower than expected given the course's high price and the fact that exam prep is included. See TREC Provider Exam Pass Rates
