Your real estate education isn’t done when you get your Georgia real estate license. Professionals know there’s always more to learn. Plus, getting regular refresher courses on some basics is always a good idea too because, let’s face it, some of that gets lost in the day-to-day hustle of prospecting, showing homes, writing contracts, and closing deals! That’s why the Georgia Real Estate Commission (GREC) requires continuing education courses for licensed real estate agents. To keep your Georgia real estate license active (or reactivate it after an inactive period), you must complete 36 hours of continuing education courses during every four-year period, which must include three hours of real estate license law. Through our partnership with Kaplan Real Estate Education, you’ll have access to the state-approved coursework you need to complete your required continuing education coursework. Enroll in individual courses one-at-a-time, or choose one of the two complete online renewal packages:
Option #1: Georgia 27-Hour New Agent CE Package: Georgia requires new agents to complete a 25-hour post-license course within their first year of licensure. But only nine hours of that program count toward the required 36 hours of continuing education needed to renew your license in four years. This 27-hour course is the perfect supplement, making sure you get all the remaining continuing education you need for your first renewal.
Option #2: Georgia 36-Hour Complete CE Package: If you’ve already been through your first renewal cycle, this is the complete package for subsequent renewals. Make sure you’re ready for your next renewal with this complete 36-hour package!
Our partners at Kaplan Real Estate Education are happy to provide assistance if you have any questions about the course contents or course materials. There are several ways to reach Kaplan support online, but you can also get a real person on the phone at 800-636-9517. Aceable also has resources available to help you with your real estate education. Our student concierge support team is on call 5 days a week to answer any questions you have about getting your license, renewing your license, or working with your Aceable student account.
Georgia continuing education is the legal requirement that licensed real estate agents complete 36 hours of ongoing real estate education during each four-year license renewal period. You cannot renew your real estate license until your course work has been completed through a GREC-approved real estate school.
And in some cases, your license might be renewed, but only to an inactive status. This can happen if your continuing education coursework isn’t complete or if you wait more than 30 days after your license expiration date to renew. In this case, you also need to submit a Change Application to take your license from inactive to active.
You only have up to a year to renew your license. If you want to resume your real estate activities more than a year after your license expiration date, you would need to submit a Reinstatement Application, along with applicable fees.
Subsequent Georgia license renewals require a full 36-hours of CE coursework. Kaplan’s 36-Hour Complete CE package includes:
