7 Steps to Getting a License in Florida

1. Meet the basics

You’ll need to be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or GED to qualify.

Complete 63 hours of pre-licensing education that follows the Florida Real Estate Commission (FREC I) syllabus.

3. Pass your course exam

At the end of your class, you’ll take a final exam. Score 70% or higher, and you’re good to move on.

4. Get fingerprinted and pass a background check

Submit the Application for Sales Associate License (DPBR RE 1) through the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR).

6. Pass the state exam.

7. Choose a broker.
