How often do I need to renew my Illinois Residential Leasing Agent license?

When are the deadlines to complete the Residential Leasing Agent CE course?

The deadline for completing residential leasing agent continuing education is the same as the license renewal date, however, the course should be completed in advance of submitting your online license renewal. The next residential leasing agent renewal date is July 31st, 2026. The IDFPR typically begins accepting online renewal applications 90 days before the renewal date.

Note: continuing education earned for disciplinary purposes may not be used toward your CE renewal requirements.

Are my credits automatically reported to the IDFPR upon completing my course?

What happens if I don’t complete my continuing education?

If you don’t complete the required education and submit your renewal application by the next renewal deadline (July 31st of odd years) then you will be prevented from trying to renew your license online. Your license is effectively inactive.

You’ll have to reactivate your license by:

Completing all of the required education.
Requesting a reinstatement packetDpr Reactivate Your License.html Idfpr.illinois.gov from the IDFPR.
Filling out and submitting the reinstatement application.
Paying all associated fees, including late fees and reinstatement fees.
