3 Steps to get your Real Estate license in Texas:

1. Take a 180 hour Texas pre-license course approved by the Texas Real Estate Commission TREC.
2. Complete a background check by requesting a Fitness Determination from TREC

3. Complete and pass the state licensing exam and submit your application form with TREC:

   • TREC contracts with Pearson VUE. They are responsible for creating and administering the licensing exam that all prospective Texas real estate license holders must take. The state exam consists of 40 questions and you must get 21 questions correct in order to pass.

   • After you complete all six pre-licensing courses, it's time to submit your application! To apply online, go to https://mylicense.trec.texas.gov/ and select “Begin Here for Sign-Up” under “New User.” We recommend submitting your application online because it is a tad cheaper. Before you can start practicing real estate, you’ll need to find a broker to sponsor you. We teach content on brokerage sponsorship as early as Level 4 of our Principles I course so that you’re informed about the process, and also give you the option to join our Broker Agent Matching Program when you reach that part in the coursework. This completely free and optional program shares your information with our large network of brokerages that are in your area — it’s like sending in a job application without any of the work!

How the Broker Agent Matching Program Works:

1. Easily opt-in at no charge while you’re taking the Principles I course. You’ll be prompted to fill out a quick survey on what you’re looking for in a broker.
2. We’ll send your information to our brokerage partners that best match your preferences. They can then reach out to you about any open positions in their office. Your information will never be sold or shared outside of our partners — the sole benefit to us is helping our students connect to potential career opportunities!

Aceable TREC approved Real Estate School offers a couple of resources that benefit you in your real estate education experience:

• Real-Life Instructor: Your TREC-approved instructor for this course is Candace Cooke. Once enrolled, if you need clarification or have a question about anything you learn in this Texas school of real estate course, you'll have access to email her at any time. Our Texas real estate experts have years of experience and are available to answer course-specific questions via email Monday-Friday.

• The student concierge support team is on call 5 days a week to help with questions about licensing or your account.

Alongside multiple-choice questions, we also ask you some open-ended questions where you can write your own responses and compare your answers to others' answers. • Pop-Up Questions throughout the course: Pop-up questions will appear on your screen to test you on the concepts you’ve just learned. They highlight information that will likely show up on the real estate exams, so give them your full attention! These questions do not affect your grade and are a risk-free way to practice before assessments. Your performance on pop-up questions also influences the accuracy of your personalized mastery tracking. After each pop-up, we’ll show you the correct answer and offer insight to why it's correct.

Once you successfully complete the TREC online courses, Aceable Real Estate School will send you your e-certificate for your records. There are two different types of tests you'll see in this course:

Level Assessment: Focuses on testing your knowledge on what you have learned in that section level of the course:

• At least 3 questions long; some levels have more questions due to having more objectives.
• The minimum score to pass: 100%.
• No time limit.
• Closed-book test.
• You can retake the test up to 3 times. After failing 3 times, you must retake the level assessment from the very beginning.

Final Exam: You’ll take a cumulative final exam that goes over everything at the end of the course and consists of:

• 60 questions.
• 2-hour time limit.
• Closed-book test.
• The minimum score to pass: 70% (get at least 42 out of 60 questions right).
• Proctored Exam that you can take up to 2 times (we have a third-party examiner monitoring you while you take your test).

After the first failure, you must re-take the test within 90 days of finishing the course. If you miss the opportunity to retake the test at that time frame, you will have to restart the course from the beginning and retake the course at no extra charge. After the second failure, you will have to retake the entire course from the beginning at no cost.

Once you successfully complete this course, Aceable Real Estate School will send your information to the testing provider that administers the Texas state real estate license exam. This makes it easier for you when you sign up for the state exam. They will have proof that you met the education requirement. No paper certificate necessary!
